East Durham College is looking for a Director of Student Experience to lead on creating an exceptional student journey that empowers every learner to thrive—academically, socially, and personally.

👥 About the Role:

As Director of Student Experience, you will:

  • Design and deliver a whole-college strategy for a vibrant, inclusive student experience.
  • Lead safeguarding as the College’s Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring students’ safety and wellbeing.
  • Oversee all aspects of student life including enrichment activities, personal development programmes, and student support services.
  • Champion student voice by working closely with the student union and representatives.
  • Manage and inspire teams responsible for student services, pastoral care, and advice and guidance.
  • Use data-driven insights to improve engagement, retention, achievement, and wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to remove barriers to learning and ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed.

  • Has experience managing multidisciplinary teams and budgets.
